Melvoille (メルヴォイル,Meruvoiru) is the current capital of Elven Gard and one of their oldest cities, known as the "Birthplace of the Elves" it is covered by a pure white forest . It was made the new capital after the destruction of Mellyrn. Within the city lies the current Nirvalen Mansion and the most prestigious Elven magic school, the Garden.
Etymology
Melvoille (メルヴォイル,Meruvoiru) shares the same writing as Melville (メルヴイル,Meruviru) in Japanese katakana, minus the ォ.
Mel is the modern translation of what used to be Malle or Mal, which means bad in Anglo-Norman, while Ville means settlement. Therefore, Melville means bad settlement.
Voille is another writing of voil, which in Anglo-Norman can mean wish or will. Thus, Melvoille literally means "ill will".
