— Avant Heim, Roleplaying End, Light Novel Volume 12
Avant Heim (アヴァント・ヘイム, Avanto Heimu), referred to as Av-kun (アヴくん, Avukun) by Azril, is Phantasma taking the form of a floating island where the Flügel reside. He is the reanimation of the ancient phenomenon known as Heaven’s Wandering Calamity (天を漂う災い, Ten wo tadayou wazawai). His phenomenon can transform into a menacing flying fortress armed with numerous cannons capable to unleash destructive barrages.
Appearance
Phenomenon
Avant Heim's structure is made of a huge number of cubes stacked up in a complex and irregular way, making navigation difficult. It also has no roads, as Flügels can simply fly or teleport themselves. Stephanie Dola realized that the city has the poorest accessible environment compared to the technologically supported Eastern Union and even less than the Elkia Kingdom. It is decorated with a skull of a Dragonia with a ribbon on it. This is the skull of Lichtengärte, the Dragonia that Jibril killed by herself.
Avant Heim is known to have a very vast library as well, being much larger than the National Library of Elkia. The library is primarily owned by Azril and it's in a large mess, since she doesn't care much about the books themselves. According to Azril, once you have read and memorized the content of a book, there's no need to re-read and the book itself is pretty much redundant. Jibril strongly disagrees with such ideology.
Core
Avant Heim's core resembles that of a pre-pubescent humanoid boy with heterochromia. He has short, combed back dark hair with one long ponytail coming from his bangs on his right, along with many pale crystals covering more than half his body, those same pale crystals also doted along his face in addition to a red marking slashed across his left eye. A large horn protrudes from the right side of his head, a supposed halo resting behind. A chained collar wraps around his neck and left ankle, and he has a tail made completely out of bone. His clothes are sparse, merely wearing rags and bandages which wrap around his right arm and left leg.
Personality
Avant Heim is a quiet character who spends his time often gazing into the events of the world, as shown in Light Novel Volume 12 where he observes the Dungeon Strategy Game held inside the Devil's Tower. He is shown to be jealous of the Devil and ruminates this to Azril. He is also shown to be rather aloof and solitary, sealing himself inside of his phenomenon at the very center, and even ignoring Azril at times.
History
Avant Heim was created as a result of a feud between gods. Following a continental collision, this land ascended toward to the heavens, and soon collapsed, causing disaster upon the earth, and then vanishing. A natural disaster that happened by chance. In memory of those who witnessed it and chronicled by the very same, it became known as Heaven’s Wandering Calamity. At the end of an eternity, it gained a core, becoming a Phantasma. It became an illusion called Avant Heim, and was merely a device that reproduced the past; a storm system. It had no purpose, malice, or anything to call itself. Some were afraid, some dreamt for its return; and so it existed. Like a cloud, it merely wanders among the heaven’s bringing with it disaster.
Avant Heim was a former protégé of the Old Deus Artosh. Along with the Flügel, he aided the God of War into nearly seizing the throne of the One True God. However, it was never accomplished as Artosh was slain before they could capture their prize. He could not accept his master's death and has since been attempting to reach The Red Moon where the Lunamana reside due to the presence of an Old Deus there which he mistakes as Artosh. Avant Heim does not simply float, but "swims" on the spiritual lines of Disboard (which is why he can't ever reach the moon). Avant Heim weeps whenever the Red Moon shines full and draws near a location where he feels the presence of an Old Deus, hoping one day he can be reunited with his master.
